This black adapter cuff bridges two different diameters: it threads onto 1-1/4" crushproof vacuum hose on one side and connects to a 1-1/2" handle or tube on the other. That step-up makes it the right part when you need to attach a 1-1/4" hose to a larger 1-1/2" wand, handle grip, or extension tube, eliminating the gap that would otherwise leak suction.
It is also a handy building block for custom hose assemblies. Paired with a 1-1/4" cuff such as #49005, it can be used to create an extension hose, giving you extra reach on a central vacuum or shop vacuum setup.
