This zippered sleeve wraps around a central vacuum hose and closes with a full-length zipper instead of tie ends, which makes it easier to remove and reuse if you swap the sock between hoses or take it off to inspect the hose underneath. It is padded rather than plain knit, in the Platinum Design pattern, and sized for hoses up to 35 feet (part 30636).
The padding absorbs more impact than a thin knit sleeve would when the hose knocks into baseboards, door casings and furniture legs during a normal cleaning pass, which matters most in homes with a lot of trim and tight hallway turns. Running the zipper closed end to end keeps the sleeve wrapped snugly around the full hose length rather than shifting or gapping the way a slide-on sock can over time.
