This replacement fork bolt tube (part #1002) fits the Kirby 505, 513, 514, and 515 handle forks. The tube is part of the handle-to-body pivot that lets the handle recline and lock in position.
A fork bolt tube that is worn, bent, or cracked creates play in the handle joint, so the handle wobbles or will not hold its set angle. Left worn, the loose joint makes the machine harder to steer. A fresh tube restores a tight pivot and secure handle control.
