This black suction control lid (Part #700184301) is a genuine Air-Way replacement for upright vacuums AW6500, AW8500, and AW8700. The lid covers the suction-control bleed valve and lets you open or close the relief opening, dialing airflow down for delicate rugs and drapes or up for maximum carpet pickup.
A missing or broken control lid leaves the bleed port stuck open, which bleeds off suction and weakens cleaning power at the nozzle. A new lid restores full control over airflow and seals the valve when you want maximum suction.
