This gearbox transmission shaft (Part #AW5420-F01) is the drive link inside the Air-Way Vibra Kleen power head, model AW5420. The shaft transfers rotation from the nozzle motor to the scrubbing brush assembly, driving the agitating brushes that loosen embedded dirt as you vacuum. It is sold each.
If the brushes have stopped turning or the gearbox makes a grinding noise, a worn, stripped, or broken transmission shaft is a common cause. Replacing this shaft re-establishes the connection between the motor and the brush drive, returning full scrubbing action to the Vibra Kleen nozzle.
