The output filter, part TDSTICK1049, is a replacement for the exhaust stage on Trovac's Airstream Stick Vac, a cordless stick vacuum.

An output filter's job is to catch fine dust right before the air leaves the machine, so what blows back into the room is cleaner than what entered the bin. As it loads with dust it can restrict airflow, which makes the motor work harder for the same suction, and on a battery-powered stick vacuum that extra load can also shorten runtime on a single charge.
