A single-stage Ametek Lamb motor, part 116196-00, in the 5.7-inch frame and wired for 120 volts, with ball bearing construction. Motors in this frame turn up in commercial canisters, utility vacuums and equipment built around a bought-in vacuum motor.
The motor is the whole machine as far as suction goes, spinning the fan that pulls air and debris through. When one is near the end the signs are consistent: pull falls off, the pitch changes and the unit runs louder, a hot or burning smell develops, and the motor may cut out and restart as the thermal protection trips.
Match your existing motor on frame size, voltage, stage count and bearing type before ordering; the number on the old motor's data plate is the reliable check. Disconnect power before opening the housing.
