Panasonic Bearing/end Cap-M...

Product details

Part AC85CTE100 is the bearing end cap for the Panasonic MC-5501 and MC-6601. It fits on the end of the brush roll and holds the bearing in position, which is what keeps the roller running true inside the nozzle.

The end cap is exactly where wrapped hair, thread and carpet fibre collect, and that build-up runs the bearing hot and works the cap loose. Once there is play the symptoms come quickly: a rumble or squeal from one end of the head, a roller that drags rather than spinning freely by hand, and uneven contact across the width so one side of the carpet cleans better than the other.

Replace both caps together if either shows wear — they have done the same hours — and clear the hair collars off the roller before it goes back in.
