Returns & Exchanges

Need to return an item? We’re happy to help. Eligible items may be returned by requesting authorization within 35 days of delivery. Once approved, your return must reach us within 21 days.

Return eligibility

Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.

Shipping and refunds

For non-defective returns, customers cover return shipping. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable. If your order included free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Eligible returns have no restocking fee.

This Bissell release lever is the handle-control component that lets you recline and lock the upright body of your machine for cleaning, then return it upright for storage. It is the correct replacement for the Bissell 1699 series carpet cleaner.

The release lever takes repeated stress every time the unit is tilted back into the cleaning position, and a cracked or seized lever can leave the handle stuck or refusing to lock. Installing a fresh lever (SKU: 555-9102) restores smooth, secure handle articulation so the machine reclines and holds position the way it should.
