Bissell Stationary Brush Re...

Product details
Bissell carpet cleaners use this fixed-position brush to work cleaning solution into the pile and loosen embedded dirt as the machine glides across a section of carpet. Bissell lists it as a stationary brush with retainer arms, and the retainer clips are not supplied with it, so check whether yours are intact and reusable before ordering rather than discovering it mid-repair.
It differs from a rotating brush roll in one key way: it never spins on its own. It relies entirely on the operator moving the machine to create scrubbing contact, which changes how its bristles wear compared with a powered roller. Because the leading edge does the most repeated contact, that is usually where flattening shows up first.
Once the bristles flatten or mat with hair and lint, agitation drops off even while the pump and suction motor both keep working normally, which makes weak scrubbing easy to mistake for a pump problem when the brush itself is the real cause. Bissell has produced several carpet cleaner platforms over the years and stationary brushes are not shared across all of them, so verify this part against your machine's part diagram before ordering rather than assuming a universal fit.
- Component: fixed scrub brush with retainer arms, non-rotating
- Function: loosens fiber and carries cleaning solution into the pile
- Not included: retainer clips
- Service point: replace once bristles flatten or mat down
- SKU: 215-1190
Run a hand over the current brush before ordering, since flattened bristles can still look fine from a distance while doing little real scrubbing. Rinsing hair and lint out after each use also slows how fast the bristles mat.
