Part 775589BLK is Hayden's black version of the finishing ring used on its VacuValve door-style central vacuum inlets. It slips over the wall opening and covers the seam between the inlet body and the drywall, the same job the almond and white versions of this plate perform in a different finish, and swapping it changes nothing about how the valve underneath opens, closes, or signals the power unit.
Black works differently than the lighter trim colors. Against dark paint, stained wood trim, or a black baseboard, it reads as an intentional design choice rather than a utility fitting, and it hides scuffs from shoes and hose ends far better than a pale plate does over years of use in a busy hallway or mudroom. It is a common pick for basements and garages, too, where the surrounding trim already runs darker than the rest of the house.
As with the other VacuValve trim plates in Hayden's line, there is more than one generation of door inlet behind this cosmetic ring, and the documentation available to us does not narrow the fit down further than the VacuValve family named on the product. Bring your existing trim plate out and match its outline, and check how it mounts to the valve housing underneath, before ordering, rather than assuming every VacuValve door takes an identical ring.
