Gray black moulded plastic caps the release button on the ET-1 power head, and 2962GS is the factory replacement SEBO supplies for it. The cap spreads pressure from a foot or a thumb across the button underneath and keeps the dust a working head throws around out of the release mechanism. SEBO fits it to the DART and to ET-1 power heads in both the switched and the unswitched build, and the gray black finish is what matches it to the neck hardware around it rather than to the coloured power head shells.
SEBO draws the button cover as item 118 on the DART parts sheet. Immediately below it at 117 sits the release button with its leaf spring, part 1737GS, and the socket cover for the TS neck is alongside at 120 as part 2961GS; all three come into view in the same strip-down, so it is worth looking at the set together. Worn caps go glassy and slick, and the foot slides off mid-press. Cracked ones let the button rock in its aperture, and the release loses its clean single-press action — usually described as a neck that refuses to let go first time. A cap that has broken away completely leaves the button stem open to grit, and the mechanism stiffens from there.
