Canavac Intake Grommet for ...

Product details
This rubber grommet wraps the tube where it passes into a Canavac CV power unit's intake, cushioning that joint while keeping it sealed against outside air that would otherwise be pulled in alongside the debris the system is meant to collect. It is a small part, but it sits at a connection every particle of dirt in the house eventually passes through.
Sitting right where the whole house's tubing network feeds into the canister, this small ring does two jobs at once: damping the vibration that travels up the line while the motor runs, and stopping the air leak that would otherwise develop at that joint and quietly cut into the system's suction. Years of heat cycling and vibration eventually stiffen and split the rubber, which is when the seal starts to fail and the leak begins, often well before anything else on the unit shows its age.
Swapping it out during a service visit is quick and inexpensive, and it restores both a tight seal and a quieter intake without needing to open up any other part of the power unit or disturb the motor housing at all.
Replace it alongside any other intake-side work while that connection is already open, since it is a small part to track down separately later once everything is closed back up. A fresh grommet is cheap insurance against a slow leak that can go unnoticed until suction drops across the whole house rather than just one inlet, which is usually how owners first notice the problem.
