This is a genuine Canavac intake grommet (Part #ITG), the rubber sealing grommet that fits around the intake tube where it enters the Canavac CV central vacuum power unit. It replaces the older Canavac reference #060032.
The grommet cushions and seals the connection between the intake spigot and the canister housing, preventing air leaks that would otherwise rob the system of suction. It also absorbs vibration at the intake, reducing rattle and protecting the tubing from chafing against the unit body. Rubber grommets harden and crack over time, so replacing this part during a service restores a tight, quiet seal.
