This OEM carbon brush set is a 2-pack built for Ametek Lamb 240-volt vacuum motors, including motor 117502-13. The brushes press against the commutator to feed current into the armature and are a designed wear item that gradually erodes with use.
When brushes run short, the motor may spark at the housing, lose suction, run intermittently, or give off a burning smell. Installing a matched pair restores clean electrical contact and protects the commutator from scoring.
