Product details

Part FMCY100101 is Trovac's 1001 thru-flow motor, a two-stage central vacuum motor rated at 555 airwatts on 120 V with a 5.7 in frame.

On a thru-flow motor the same airstream that carries dust through the piping is also what cools the windings, rather than drawing a separate bypass air path the way some motors do. That makes the seal between the fan housing and the motor deck more important than on a bypass design, since any leak there both weakens suction and lets dirty air reach the motor more directly. Because a thru-flow motor works continuously while the system runs, it is also worth paying attention to gradual changes: a motor that gets noticeably louder, runs hotter to the touch than it used to, or trips a thermal cutout more often is usually further along in wearing out than the suction alone will tell you.

  • Type: Thru-flow, 2-stage
  • Rating: 120 V, 555 airwatts
  • Frame: 5.7 in

Replace the motor once suction has dropped off, the bearings sound rough, or the unit no longer starts. Confirm the frame size and lead style against your original motor before ordering part FMCY100101, or check your unit's parts diagram.
