Part TF5548BV anchors a run of central vacuum PVC tubing to the framing members it passes, whether that is studs going up a wall or joists spanning a basement ceiling. Fastening the pipe at regular points along its length is what stops a long run from shifting, sagging, or drumming against nearby wood once the system starts pulling air.

Left to span too far between supports, PVC tubing tends to bow downward under its own weight over time, and a low spot created that way can catch debris and moisture instead of letting them continue on toward the power unit. Spacing straps evenly along a run rather than clustering them near the ends does more to keep the pipe both quiet and properly pitched than adding a few extra straps in one spot would.
