Cen-Tec supplies the 30-foot hose in this Clean Obsessed kit, wired for direct connection and paired with a black 12-inch powerhead built in the SEBO style, for central vacuum systems that switch the brush motor on through the wall valve. The hose end wires straight into the inlet's low-voltage contacts, so the powerhead starts the moment it is inserted.
With no pigtail cord or receptacle to manage, the setup stays simple at the wall: insert the hose, and the powerhead is live. That only works if the inlet was wired for direct-connect power in the first place, which is standard on many builder-installed systems but not universal.
The powerhead itself runs a rotating brush rather than depending on airflow alone, which is what actually pulls ground-in dirt and pet hair from carpet pile rather than just what sits loose on top. Keeping the electrical path inside the hose also means the only thing crossing the inlet plate is the hose cuff, with no cord looping back to an outlet.
If you are not sure whether your central vacuum wiring supports direct-connect, check your existing hose or wall plate before ordering. A system without that wiring needs a pigtail hose instead, which powers the brush motor from a nearby receptacle.
