Dirt Devil Filter Dirty Wat...

Product details

This is the dirty water tank filter for the Dirt Devil Easy Steamer, part 1660125000, fitted to the CE6600. It is the foam screen sitting in the recovery path that catches grit and lint pulled up off the carpet before that debris can reach the motor side of the machine.

Foam does not last forever. It packs solid with residue, goes brittle, and eventually tears, and a torn screen is worse than no screen because it passes debris while still looking like it is working. Weak recovery, water carrying over, or grit turning up where it should not are all reasons to pull the foam out and look at it.

Rinse it between uses and replace it once it stops springing back. Seat the new one square in its housing so nothing slips past the edge.
