This genuine OEM handle fork latch spring fits the Dirt Devil 089000 and other Royal new-style metal uprights. It provides the tension that holds the handle fork latch engaged so the handle locks and releases properly.
A weak or broken spring lets the latch slip, leaving the handle loose or unable to lock at the right angle. A fresh factory spring restores firm, positive handle control. With the latch held firmly, the handle locks at each position instead of drifting during use.
