Green is the upkeep grade in the DISCO pad range. SEBO 3230ER30 is the pad for holding a floor that already carries a high gloss, rather than for cutting back one that has gone flat.
The DISCO is a suction floor polisher, so the pad works under the head while the machine is still moving air. SEBO's DISCO parts list shows the drive behind it: motor 3252 at position 17, the motor pulley 3222 at position 19 and the drive belt 3221 at position 29, sitting behind the belt drive cover 3202 at position 32, with the center castor 3220 and the guide roll 3254 carrying the head across the floor. A pad that has loaded up drags on that drive, which is one reason a spent pad is a false economy.
Pads are consumables. They collect residue and burnish it flat until the face stops biting, and the tell is a pass that leaves the shine patchy instead of even, or a head that sounds like it is skating rather than working. A spare green pad on the shelf is what stops a routine maintenance round from turning into a restoration job halfway across a room. Where a finish has already gone past what an upkeep pad can hold, the red preparation pad and yellow gloss pad supplied together as 3286ER40 are the pair for that work, and the green pad goes back on afterwards to keep the result.
