DUO-P is a crumbly compound rather than a liquid shampoo. It is scattered across the carpet, brushed down into the pile with the SEBO Duo machine so every granule can take hold of the soil around it, left to work, then vacuumed away with the dirt held inside it. Very little moisture reaches the fibres or the backing, and that is the practical advantage: the room comes back into use quickly instead of being closed off while a wet carpet dries, and there is none of the wicking that brings old marks back to the surface a day later.
Five sealed bags also keeps the compound in condition. A bag that has sat open in a damp basement picks up moisture, and compound that has clumped will not spread evenly or brush in properly.
