Plastiflex 45-Degree Spigot...

Product details

Part SV8060 is a 45-degree spigot elbow for standard central vacuum piping, built by Plastiflex. The spigot end fits straight into the next fitting's hub without a separate coupling piece, which keeps the joint count down in the crowded runs that tend to show up between joists or behind a finished wall where clearance is at a premium.

A 45-degree bend does less to the airflow than a 90-degree turn does, which is why installers favor it wherever a run needs to change direction but does not need a hard right angle. Two 45s can also replace a single 90 on a long run to spread the direction change over more distance and keep airflow moving more freely through the turn, which can make a noticeable difference on a longer branch line feeding several inlets.

Bond spigot-to-hub connections with PVC cement, or use a slip fit if your system's fittings call for it, and take care to seat each joint fully before the cement sets. A central vacuum system is only as reliable as its weakest joint, and a properly seated elbow at every turn helps keep suction steady at each inlet throughout the house.

  • Part: SV8060
  • Fits: standard central vacuum piping; match your system's fittings before ordering
  • Angle: 45 degrees
  • Connection: spigot end, seats into adjacent fitting's hub

It suits both new installations and repair work where an existing 45-degree turn needs to be reopened and rebuilt from scratch. Keep the spigot end clean and free of old cement residue if you are reusing an adjacent fitting, since a rough hub surface can keep the joint from seating fully home.
