Part 81025-4 is the replacement cover for the dirt canister on Eureka's 8862AVZ bagless upright. It closes the top of the canister so the machine draws air along its intended path instead of around a gap in the seal.
Covers on a bagless upright take their wear from handling rather than from airflow. Every emptying cycle means the cover comes off, gets set down somewhere, and goes back on, and that repetition is what eventually cracks the plastic or leaves a latch that no longer holds. A cover at that stage sits slightly proud of the canister instead of pulling flush against it.
