This replacement fan housing (Part #58-8625-66) is the screw-type version for the Oreck XL2000 and XL3000 uprights. It encloses the fan that generates the airflow behind the vacuum's suction.
A cracked or worn fan housing lets air leak and can allow the fan to run out of true, which shows up as louder operation, vibration, or weak suction even with clean filters. A sound housing restores proper airflow and quiet running.
