Field Coil - Royal 618/680

Product details

A replacement field coil for Royal 618 and 680 vacuum motors, part 1618002000. The field coil is the stationary winding that produces the magnetic field the armature turns inside; without it the motor has nothing to push against.

Coils fail from heat and age. The insulation on the windings breaks down, turns short against each other, and the motor loses torque long before it stops outright. The tell-tales are a machine that runs slow and hot, trips a breaker, or gives off the sharp smell of scorched varnish after a few minutes of use.

This coil is also listed against the Royal 8702. Fitting it means wiring work inside a mains-powered motor, so unplug the machine and have a technician do the job if you are not confident with the connections. Compare the coil against your existing one before ordering.
