This 2" x 6" firewall steel section (SKU 523S) solves a specific code problem in new-construction central vacuum installs: getting the pipe line through a fire barrier wall. Where the vacuum line penetrates a rated assembly — the garage wall is the classic example — a short length of steel pipe passes through the barrier in place of PVC.
Installation is simple: run the steel section through the fire barrier, then tie each end back into your standard central vacuum PVC piping with couplings and rubber cement.
- Size: 2" x 6" steel section
- Purpose: fire barrier wall penetrations (garages and similar rated walls)
- Connection: rubber cement plus couplings to standard vacuum PVC pipe
- Best for: new construction rough-ins
