Bolted across the machine's leading edge, it pushes a wide path of water ahead of the unit as it moves, so a flooded or heavily wet floor comes dry in noticeably fewer passes than working the same area with a handheld wand.
The squeegee runs hands-free alongside the vacuum, which means a single operator can respond to a major flood, clear a scrubber's trail-off water, or handle routine wet floor pickup without also steering a wand.
