The clean water tank is the reservoir the SmartWash pump draws from, and this is the replacement for the Gen 2 and SmartWash Pet machines, Hoover part 440014445.
Look for three things on the tank you are replacing: hairline cracks radiating from a corner, a gasket that has gone hard and taken a permanent dent, and a latch that no longer pulls the tank down onto its seat. Any of them and the machine will run short of solution mid-room, drip onto the floor between rooms, or draw air and spray unevenly.
A tank that seals properly simply gets on with delivering solution at a steady rate. This one is for the Hoover FH52000, FH52000G, FH52001G, FH52002G, FH52005GCD, FH52023V, FH53000, FH53000PC, FH53000TV1 and FH53010. Fill to the marked line and seat it squarely.
