Returns & Exchanges

Return eligibility

Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.

For non-defective returns, customers cover return shipping. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable. If your order included free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Eligible returns have no restocking fee.

This duct hose assembly, part 38671022, replaces a section of the air path inside a Hoover vacuum. A duct hose is the run that carries dust-laden air from one part of the machine to the next, and unlike the hose you hold in your hand it does its work out of sight inside the body.

Once a duct hose splits open or works its cuff loose, the vacuum can lose pickup at the nozzle even while the motor sounds completely normal, because the air the motor is pulling escapes inside the machine instead of carrying dirt all the way to the bag. It is a common cause of weak pickup that gets mistaken for a motor or filter problem, since nothing about the sound or the power switch changes, and a filter that is already clean will not fix the leak.

Hoover has used many different duct hoses across its upright, canister and carpet cleaner lines, and they are not interchangeable.
