This genuine OEM Field Bolt Washer fits the Hoover C1631. The washer seats under the field bolt inside the motor assembly, spreading clamping load so the motor's field is held securely and squarely in place.
A missing or deformed washer lets the field bolt loosen, which can allow the field to shift, vibrate, or lose its correct alignment against the armature. That movement makes noise and, left unchecked, can lead to further motor wear. Using the correct washer keeps the bolt properly torqued and the field stable through normal operation.
