Hoover WindTunnel Self-Prop...

Product details

Part 38718013 is the valve Hoover lists for its self-propelled WindTunnel uprights. The parts listing names it simply as the valve for these machines, so treat your model's parts diagram as the authority on exactly where it sits in the airway before ordering.

A valve in a vacuum airway has one job: keep air following the path the machine selects, with nothing bleeding off along the way. When a valve sticks partway or the sealing surface around it wears, suction stops matching what the machine is set to do, and pulling power sags with no clog anywhere to explain it. Because the fault sits at the valve rather than at the motor or the bag, a machine with this problem can otherwise sound and run completely normally, which is exactly what makes it easy to misdiagnose.

A new valve restores a tight airway: worn sealing surfaces and a sticking body are replaced in one piece, so suction goes back to following the machine's controls the way it did when the vacuum was new.

  • Part: 38718013
  • Fits: Hoover U6607900, U6616900, U6617900, U6625900, U6626900, U6630900, U6632900, U6634900, U6655900, U6660900, UH60000, UH60010
  • Function: valve, self-propelled WindTunnel airway
  • Symptom: suction loss that no clog or full bag explains

Fitting the replacement is a swap rather than an adjustment: the old valve comes out and the new one takes its place. Match your model number to the fitment list before ordering, and confirm the valve's location on your machine's parts diagram if you are not certain this is the piece at fault.
