Product details

Replacement hose assembly for the Electrolux Guardian Platinum canister, part 49816, listed against Electrolux 1171.

Everything the machine picks up travels through this hose, which is why a tired one is felt everywhere at once. The usual failure is a split along a flex point, or a cuff that has worked loose at the machine end. Either way air gets in where it should not and the tools stop pulling. Hold the hose up to a light and flex it; cracks show as fine lines that open under the bend.

Push both ends home until they seat, then run the machine with the bare hose and feel for pull at the open end. If it is strong there and weak at the tools, the hose was never the problem.
