This is the genuine Kirby wheel screw with a Torx drive, the fastener that secures a wheel to its hub or axle on Kirby uprights from the Legend II through the Generation 6 (G6). The Torx head provides a secure, cam-out-resistant grip so the wheel stays firmly mounted under the repeated load of rolling and maneuvering.
Using the correct factory Torx screw ensures the right thread and length to hold the wheel without stripping the mounting boss or working loose over time. This is the proper replacement when reassembling wheels during a hub, axle, or wheel replacement on these models (Part #231695A).
