Lamb 5.7 in. 2-Stage Bypass...

Product details

This is a replacement bypass-style vacuum motor built by Lamb, 5.7 inches in diameter with a two-fan, 2-stage design and rated for 240-volt operation. It is carried under Lamb part number 116213-00. Ametek publishes it with a tangential discharge and a 1125 watt power level.

A bypass motor draws its own cooling air across the motor windings on a path that stays separate from the machine's suction airflow, which is what lets it run continuously without overheating. That separation also means the motor can be checked somewhat on its own: with the machine unplugged, the shaft should turn freely and quietly by hand, without grinding or excess play at either end. When one of these motors is wearing out on the job, the usual signs are suction that fades even with a clean filter and an empty bag, a new whine or grinding note that rises with motor speed, unusually high current draw for the rated voltage, or a housing that runs hotter than it used to.

  • Part: Lamb bypass motor, part number 116213-00
  • Discharge: tangential
  • Power level: 1125 watts
  • Replacement brush kit: 833508-50
  • Diameter: 5.7 inches
  • Stage: 2-fan (2-stage)
  • Voltage: 240V

This motor is sold as a direct replacement rather than against a named machine list, so check your unit's data plate or the motor you are pulling out for a matching diameter, stage count and voltage before ordering, and keep the old motor on hand until the replacement is confirmed to run correctly.
