Product details

A Simplicity F3300 Symmetry whose headlight has gone dull usually needs the lens rather than the bulb, and part B018-0315C is that lens. It is the clear cover over the lamp at the front of the nozzle, holding dust out of the lamp housing and throwing the light forward onto the floor ahead of the machine.

Lenses fail slowly and then obviously. Heat from the bulb yellows the plastic, years of contact with furniture legs and baseboards scuff it, and eventually a knock cracks it. The symptom is a headlight that seems to have dimmed even though the bulb is fine: shadowed carpet under a bed or along a wall no longer shows you where the dirt is.

A clear lens brings the light back and re-covers the bulb. Fitting it is a front-of-machine job, and the old one usually breaks away in pieces if it is already cracked.
