Part SHSGEZHR01 rebuilds the low-voltage circuit built into a Plastiflex pistol grip hose handle, pairing a fresh switch with the wiring harness it connects to so both halves of that circuit go in together.
That switch takes a beating simply from normal use, since every single pass with the hose means pressing it at least once to start the unit and once to stop it. The contacts wear down with that repetition, and the wiring in the harness fatigues under the same repeated flexing. Eventually the vacuum needs coaxing to start, shuts off on its own partway through a room, or stops answering the handle switch entirely even though the wall inlet switch still starts it fine.
Replacing the switch on its own rarely holds, because a fresh switch wired onto a harness that is already chafed tends to fail again soon after, which is why the two ship together. Cut power at the unit before opening the handle. While it is apart, look the grip housing over for cracks, since a housing that no longer closes tightly around the new switch and harness lets them work loose again, and note how the old wiring was routed before you disconnect anything so the replacement goes back the same way.
