Maytag Hose Handle Locking ...

Product details

Part B355-0214C is the small spring inside the hose handle that keeps the coupling latched. It is fitted to the Maytag M1200 upright and crosses to a wide run of Riccar and Simplicity machines: the Riccar Brilliance BRLD and BRLP, the R30D, R30P, R30PET, R40 and R40P, and the Simplicity SCRD, SCRP and SCRS uprights.

The spring supplies the tension that holds the hose locked into the handle while you are cleaning above the floor. When it weakens or breaks, the hose pops free mid-stroke, usually with the tool still attached, and you spend the job reseating it every few minutes.

It is a cheap fix for a fault that feels far worse than it is, and one spring restores a positive, secure hold on any of the machines above.
