The metal concrete back-up box (SKU 515M) is purpose-designed for concrete and block-wall central vacuum installs. Self-contained and made of aluminum, the box creates a protected wall cavity for the low-voltage wiring connections that sit behind the inlet valve. Pour concrete right around it; the interior stays fully protected.
In commercial applications it does double duty: it can house an externally mounted inlet valve where the piping runs exposed outside the wall.
