    Return eligibility

    Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.

    Miele electronic unit 7489980 is the model-specific control board for the Gemini and Leo S5381 canister vacuums sold in North America. Unlike the shared boards used across much of the S5000 range, this revision is matched to the S5381's push-button electronic speed control, so it is the correct repair part for these two machines specifically — it is not interchangeable with boards from other S5 models.

    The electronic unit governs everything between the wall outlet and the motor: power-on, the stepped suction levels selected at the canister, soft-start to protect the motor windings, and thermal cut-off. A Gemini or Leo that won't switch on, ignores speed changes, or shuts down intermittently while running almost always needs this board rather than a new motor.

    Replacement is a straightforward bench job for anyone comfortable opening the canister shell: the board mounts in the original carrier and connects via the factory spade terminals, with no soldering required.
