Noise and vibration coming out of an ET-C head are more often traced to the mounting than to the motor itself. Part 2566 is the motor mounting that locates and holds the motor inside the SEBO ET-C power head.

The mounting does two things at once. It fixes the motor in the position the drive was designed around, and it isolates the housing from the motor's own movement so vibration is absorbed rather than transmitted through the shell and up into the handle. Every start-up torque reaction passes through it, as does every knock the head takes against a skirting board or a chair leg.

When a mounting perishes, splits or works loose, the motor gains a small amount of freedom, and a small amount is enough. The drive is pulled slightly out of line, the belt sees an uneven load, and the electrical connections are flexed back and forth until they fail as well. The tell-tale is a head that has turned noticeably louder or coarser in sound, or a motor that can be rocked by hand once the cover is off. A fresh SEBO motor mounting settles the motor down and takes the strain back out of the assembly. Check the belt and the head wiring while the cover is away; on the electrical side, the 120 V board for this head is listed separately as 2584ER.

The mounting is supplied on its own and goes back into the position the original occupied, so there is nothing to shim or trim on the bench. Work with the head unplugged and support the weight of the motor as the old mounting comes away, so that nothing is left hanging on the wiring. Anyone searching for a SEBO ET-C motor mount or a replacement motor mounting for an ET-C power head is looking at this number.
