Product details

Part R8052 is a suction-only hose built for the Rainbow: nothing electrical runs through it, so there is no wire or handle switch that can fail. It fits the Rainbow E, the E2 Type 12, and the E-2 eSeries.

Reach for this version if the power nozzle rarely comes out of the closet and hand tools do most of the work, or if a wired hose has burned through at the connector while the nozzle was never part of the routine anyway. Either way, dropping the wire removes a failure point the electric version still carries.

When suction drops off, check the full length of the corrugations and both cuffs for splits. A split between the corrugations can close up while the hose lies slack and open again the moment the hose is pulled straight, which is why a hose that seems to leak only some of the time still needs inspecting flat and flexed section by section rather than judged while it sits coiled.

Handle the hose gently at both cuffs when you disconnect it for inspection, since forcing a stuck cuff off at an angle is a common way to start a crack that was not there before. A quick wipe-down of the inside of each cuff while the hose is off also clears out the grit that speeds up wear at exactly those points.
