This replacement nut secures the bag holder on Oreck new-style upright vacuums. It threads onto the bag holder mount and keeps the outer bag assembly clamped firmly in place.
When this nut goes missing or its threads wear, the outer bag holder can loosen, letting the bag hang crooked or work free during use. Fitting a fresh nut draws the holder tight again so the bag sits secure and properly supported.
