Returns & Exchanges

Need to return an item? We’re happy to help. Eligible items may be returned by requesting authorization within 35 days of delivery. Once approved, your return must reach us within 21 days.

Return eligibility

Items must be unused, in new condition, and include their original packaging and all accessories. Machines that use water cannot be returned once unboxed, unless defective upon arrival.

Shipping and refunds

For non-defective returns, customers cover return shipping. Original shipping charges are nonrefundable. If your order included free shipping, our actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. Eligible returns have no restocking fee.

The fan housing cover on the Oreck XL21 series upright forms a barrier over the fan chamber, and part 09-77230-51 is the direct replacement for it. The cover does no mechanical work on its own; its whole purpose is keeping air moving through the intended path rather than leaking past the fan, and that quiet job is exactly why a warped or split cover costs suction without the motor ever sounding any different.

Damage to this cover tends to follow one of two routes. Either a fan blade breaks loose and chips the cover on its way past, or the plastic simply grows brittle with age around the screw bosses and splits the next time the housing is opened. Air pulled in through a crack in the cover bypasses the nozzle entirely, letting the vacuum run at what sounds like full strength while it cleans noticeably worse than it should.

Because this part sits directly against the fan, check it any time the motor assembly is opened for another repair instead of waiting for a separate complaint to send you looking for it. A hairline split is easy to miss at a glance, so run a finger along every edge and screw boss before closing the housing back up.
