This genuine Oreck rear mount ring secures the BB motor in place inside the vacuum housing. The mount ring acts as a cushioned support collar that holds the motor at the rear of the assembly, dampening vibration and keeping the motor properly aligned with the airflow path.
A worn, hardened, or cracked mount ring lets the motor shift or vibrate, which can cause excess noise, rattling, and uneven wear. Installing this fresh ring (Part #7205801) restores a snug, stable fit for the BB motor.
