Product details

A short 16-inch, three-wire 120V pigtail cord, Oreck part 430000990, also carried as 75957-01-441. It is the internal lead that carries power the last stretch to the motor on the U2000R, U2000R-1, U2000RB and U2000RB-1 uprights.

Short as it is, this cord flexes at the handle pivot every time the machine is reclined, and the strands inside fatigue and break one at a time. The result is a vacuum that cuts out as the handle moves, runs only in one handle position, or refuses to start at all while the main cord tests perfectly good, which is exactly why the pigtail is worth checking before anyone condemns a motor.

Unplug the machine before opening the handle area, and note how the old cord was routed before it comes out.
