This O-ring is a genuine Oreck sealing part for the tube connector on the Oreck XL21 and Platinum series vacuums. It sits at the joint where the vacuum's air tubing connects, creating an airtight seal that keeps suction strong by preventing air from leaking out at the connection.
Rubber O-rings harden, flatten, and crack with age and heat. A failed seal at the tube connector lets the machine pull air from the wrong place, which weakens cleaning performance and pickup. Replacing this small part is one of the easiest ways to restore lost suction on these models.
