Panasonic Frame Trip Lever ...

$29.99

Product details

The frame trip lever is the small pivoting arm that releases the upright's frame from its locked, standing position when you step on the pedal, letting the body tip back for cleaning. On the Panasonic MC5210, that lever is part AMC43A-2V0, and it takes a mechanical hit every time the pedal is pressed.

When the lever wears at its pivot point or the tab that engages the latch rounds off, the pedal starts to feel loose or fails to release the machine at all. Some owners describe pressing the pedal two or three times, or wiggling the handle while pressing, before the frame finally lets go. That points at the lever losing its grip on the catch, not a problem with the pedal spring.

Replacing it restores a clean, single-press release. The part is cataloged for the MC5210, so confirm your model number on the rating plate before ordering rather than matching by eye.

With the machine unplugged, note exactly how the old lever sits in the pedal mechanism before removing it, and fit the new one in the same position and orientation. Work the pedal through a full cycle by hand before restoring power, checking that the frame both releases and re-locks cleanly rather than catching partway through the motion. Do this several times, since a lever that only fails intermittently under load can still pass a single test cycle.
