    MG215M names a 15 in. rotary brush built with medium-grit, carbon-impregnated bristle at .028 in. fill diameter, sized for 17 in. floor machines and weighing 8 lb with its clutch plate included. It replaces a run of older Powr-Flite grit numbers, PFLG16, PFMG16, PFLG17 and PFMG17 among them.

    A grit brush is the tool for surfaces a nylon brush or a pad cannot touch. Because the carbon is mixed through the bristle material itself rather than coated onto the outside, cutting power stays roughly constant as the tips wear, unlike a plain abrasive that loses its edge once the outer layer is gone. Powr-Flite points this grade at tile and grouted floors, porous hard surfaces, heavy buildup or staining on concrete, unfinished concrete, and light stripping.

    Powr-Flite lists this brush against its own 17 in. floor machines, the C171HD and the NM171HD, the two models named on its spec sheet for this part. That combination of a coarse grade and carbon that runs deep through the bristle is what makes it the choice for concrete or grouted tile a nylon brush would only polish rather than actually cut into.
