Between the bag and the motor of a FELIX or DART upright sits a single flat filter pad, and 7012AM is the replacement for it. SEBO marks the part at position 42 in the FELIX parts diagram and position 13 in the DART diagram, so there is no ambiguity about which element this is when the exploded view is open in front of you.
It fits the SEBO FELIX Premium, FELIX 2 Premium and DART. Small as it is, this pad is behind a surprising share of suction complaints: as it loads with fine dust the airflow through the machine falls away, the motor runs hotter for the same work, and the owner concludes the vacuum is simply getting old. A new bag will not fix that, because the restriction is downstream of the bag. Open the bag door, pull the old pad out of its recess, seat the new one the same way round and close up — no tools, under a minute.
Replace it when suction has drifted down with a fresh bag fitted, when the pad has gone uniformly gray, or as routine every few bag changes. If odor control is what you are after rather than plain motor protection, the same position takes anti-odor filter 7185ER instead.
One thing worth being clear about: this is the pre-motor pad, not the exhaust-side filter and not the bag. If a FELIX or DART has been given fresh bags and still feels tired, this is the piece most often skipped, because it sits out of sight behind the bag and nothing on the machine prompts you to look at it. Keeping a spare in the cupboard alongside your bags is the simplest way to make sure it gets changed at all.
