Beam Primary Central Vacuum...

Product details

A central vacuum's motor lives downstream of this filter, and how hard it works depends largely on how clean the filter is. Part 110346 is the primary filter Beam specifies for its 2775 power unit, also used on the 2370, and it hangs inside the canister, pulling fine dust out of the passing air before that air ever reaches the motor.

Unlike a torn hose or a stuck valve, a loaded filter does not announce itself with a single obvious fault. The fabric fills with fine dust over months of normal use until air can no longer move through it as freely as it should. Upstairs at the wall inlets that shows up as a slow decline in pull; down at the power unit it shows up as a motor running hotter and working harder to move the same volume of air, without ever actually failing outright.

How fast it loads depends on the household: heavier use, more fine dust in the home, or a torn upstream bag all shorten the interval between changes, while a light-use system with a healthy bag can go much longer between filters.

Changing it out is a simple canister-lid task, no tools needed. Confirm the model number stamped on the unit itself before you order, since Beam has used more than one filter across its central vacuum range, and empty the canister's dirt while the lid is already open, rather than making a second trip out to the unit later.

  • Part: 110346, primary filter
  • Fits: Beam 2775, Beam 2370 central vacuum power units
  • Symptom of a loaded filter: gradual suction loss at inlets, motor running hotter than normal
  • While replacing: confirm your model number and empty the dirt canister
